I seem to have endless problems with Poser Pro 2014. I did with Poser 9 previously. I'm using 10.0.1.25099 and again I'm getting a startup error in the content library:

FAULT Detected!
[FaultEvent fault=[RPC Fault faultString="HTTP request error" faultCode="Server.Error.Request" faultDetail="Error:[IOErrorEvent type="ioError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2032"].
URL: http://127.0.0.1:11530/apps/lms/api.py"] messageId="F74FC0CF-8F68-0592-DE4E-AEFE08947FED" type="false" bubbles=false cancelable=true eventPhase=2] --- Fault Request Info:
op=appConfig

The last time this occurred I contacted Smith Micro support and their advice was to upgrade Silverlight, Flash and the Windows 7 (x64) OS I'm running under. Amazingly that fixed it on that occasion. Sadly the same trick hasn't worked today. I have the latest Flash and Windows Update shows no pending updates.

I've just downloaded Service Release 2.1 (SR2.1) and the problem continues. I'm now using 10.0.2.25578. The error message has changed ever so slightly:

FAULT Detected!
[FaultEvent fault=[RPC Fault faultString="HTTP request error" faultCode="Server.Error.Request" faultDetail="Error:[IOErrorEvent type="ioError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2032"].

Sadly this renders my copy of Poser unusable. I'm contacting support again in the hope that this problem will be addressed properly, by re-writing the Python component api.py running on port 11530, perhaps instead as a native Windows service call to get information from the file system.

Just before I did I checked the support ticked from the last time. It eluded to an IE problem. It turns out while my system has the latest Flash, the Internet Explorer 10 plugin in did not. Thankfully that fixed it, but why it was necessary is beyond me.
